Chocolate Brownies

14 Apr

Everyone has their own brownie recipe, this is our favourite. It’s fuss free and really quick. Perfect for when an emergency chocolate pick me up is required. We love them fresh out of the oven with a cup of tea, or with ice cream, chocolate sauce and summer berries as a special dessert. The littlest sister says these are ‘off the chain.’  Thanks Mum for passing on the recipe.

Hopefully the metric police won’t get me… Whizz 8oz of caster sugar, 4oz of butter, 5oz plain flour, 2 eggs, a pinch of baking powder and two tablespoons of cocoa powder together in a food processor until combined. Spread out in a 9×7 inch tin lined with greaseproof paper. Break a bar of white chocolate and a bar of dark chocolate into chunks and dot evenly into the brownie mixture. Bake for 35 minutes at 180 degrees/gas mark 4 or until the top looks crusty and a knife inserted into the middle comes out clean. Enjoy!
